A weekend of intense game making

Welcome to the Manila Game Jam 2011!  The Manila Game Jam is a game making event in tandem with the Global Game Jam, an event where numerous sites around the world simultaneously make games in a huge game-making exercise!  Last year’s Manila Game Jam was organized by IGDA Manila alongside Anino Games and UP ITTC and had 32 participants who churned out 9 games! The game Crease won both the jury and participants’ hearts, and was also featured in the global game jam news letter as one of the must-try games among a list of thousands of games.

This is the second year in a row we’ve held this exciting event in partnership with UP ITTC, and we’re hoping to make the 2011 version even better!  In addition to the gamejam, we’ll also be holding a one day game making seminar for any aspiring game developers who want an inkling into what it takes to make a game in 48 hours.  This will be held a week prior to the gamejam, and will also serve as an orientation for the participants.

Please use this site as a reference point for all the info you need to know about the Manila Game Jam 2011, like mechanics, rules, and maps to the venue.  We will be periodically updating the site, so please check on it every now and then and the IGDA Manila facebook group for any announcements.

Thanks, and we hope to see you guys there!
